YU YU HAKUSHO The Second Movie,
Poltergeist Report
(A raging storm is brewing in the spirit
world. Thunder crashes as Koenma is looking out the window of his office.)
Koenma: What the hell is going on here? This amount of rain is not normal!
(Foot
steps run up to Koenma’s office, before a blue ogre with yellow hair
enters)
Blue Ogre: Lord Koenma!
Koenma: What is it?!
Blue Ogre: The river
(Koenma
gasps at what he hears, while out side ogres who were trying to bar the river
are swept away as the river over flows and cuts through their reinforcements.)
Ogre 1: Tsunami!!
Ogre 2: Close the
gates!
(The
Ogres that return to the front doors of the Gate of Judgment assist in getting
the massive doors closed. However their efforts are in vain as the force of the
water brakes through the large wooden doors and all are swept away.)
Ogre 3: Water has
broken through the Gate of Judgment!
Ogre 4: There’s a crack in the upper part of the
Gate…!
Ogre 5: Take all of the important files! Grab everything!
Blue Ogre: What should we do?
(Koenma
is sitting at his desk looking on, the Blue Ogre runs in and hides behind
Koenma’s chair.)
Ogre 6: Lord Koenma!
Koenma: What is it?
Ogre 7: The second and third levels have been submerged! If this
keeps up all the gates will be in danger!
Ogre 8: The shield has collapsed! It cannot be repaired!
(Water is
starting to flood into the upper levels of the Gate of Judgment. Koenma still
is seated at his desk and the Blue Ogre is still hiding behind Koenma’s
chair.)
Blue Ogre: It is dangerous, Lord Koenma please seek refuge!
What’s the matter with you, Lord Koenma?!
Koenma: I
don’t believe it…!
Summon Botan! I will be in
the Great Vault!
Blue Ogre: But, my Lord, now is not the time to--
Koenma: Hurry up!
Blue Ogre: My Lord!
(In the
anti-chamber of the great vault Botan, flies in front of a mural depicting of a
great fight that King Enma apparently won. Looking very much, like a fly in
comparison to the great painting as she looks for Koenma.)
Botan: Lord Koenma! Lord Koenma!
Koenma: I'm here, Botan!
(Botan
gasps as she spots Koenma fighting the current of the river, but loses his grip
and drifts off. Botan races off after him.)
Botan: Lord Koenma! Lord Koenma!!!
(An
Explosion erupts! We find the Botan has rescued Koenma and the two are on a
ledge temporarily. Koenma hands something to Botan.)
Koenma: This cannot end up in their hands! Hurry and take it to
Yusuke. There’s no other way to save the Spirit World. Do you understand?
Botan: Yes!
Koenma: Go, Botan! I have to remain here, hurry.
Botan: Yes!
(Botan summons
her oar and takes off, she glances back at her Lord as she leaves.)
Koenma: Keep going, Botan! (Is
swept away.) Hurry!
(Botan,
bursts through the roof of the Gate of Judgment. Looking back once more, she
watches in horror as the waters of the River
Botan: LOOORRRRDDDDDD
KOOOENNNMAAAAA!!!!!
(Attempting
to escape to the Human-world she is struck by lighting and falls into the
waters below her.)

(It’s a normal day, the sun is
shining, birds are singing, and Yusuke as usual is on the roof cutting class.)
Keiko: Oh! Where did
he go now?
(Keiko
leaves the class room in an irritated fashion and heads to the roof of the
school.)
Yusuke: Boy, am I hungry.
Maybe I should eat my lunch now.
(Yusuke
stretches and yawns when a drop of water hits his face. Looking up he sees a
battered and soaked Botan fall limply off the stairwell.)
Yusuke: What?! Botan!
(Yusuke
runs up and catches her.)
Yusuke: Hey, Botan!
What happened to you? Talk to me!
What happened to you, Botan?!
Botan!
(Botan
regains conciseness.)
Botan: (Weakly) The
Spirit World is…..The Spirit World! The Spirit…..!
Yusuke: The Spirit World is what?
(Botan’s
losing consciousness again.)
Yusuke: Botan!
Botan: Must… go to …Kasane Shrine…. find
Hinageshi.
Yusuke: What’s that?
Botan: Please…please, Yusuke.
(Botan
faints, Yusuke rushes her to the door, just as Keiko exits the stairwell to the
roof.)
Yusuke: Keiko!
(Keiko notices her
unconscious friend.)
Keiko: Botan! What
happened to you?
Yusuke: I have no idea what’s going on here.
Keiko: Botan…
Yusuke: Keiko, please take Botan from me and take her to
Genkai’s temple. You must hurry!
(Keiko nods in
understanding. Yusuke and Kuwabara are run to Kasane Shrine.)
Kuwabara: So, what’s at Kasane shrine?
Yusuke: I don’t know.
Kuwabara: You don’t know?! (Grabs Yusuke by the Jacket.) Hey, you
mean to tell me you didn’t find out any details?
(Yusuke
swats away Kuwabara’s hands.)
Yusuke: There was no time for that!
Kuwabara: (Folds arms.)
You’re really not any use at all. I would have found out everything
first--
(A girl
shrieks cutting off Kuwabara.)
Yusuke: From over there!
(Yusuke
pushes Kuwabara into a wall and uses him as a human ladder to jump over it)
Kuwabara:
H-hey!
Yusuke: Heads up!
Kuwabara: Yusuke! You bastard!
(At the
shrine a little girl (Physically looks about 12-13 ) with bright red hair and
green eyes dressed in the garb of a shrine maiden, is being chased by some
really ugly guys. But soon the men change into their true demon selves, So now
the girl is being chased by monsters.)
Girl: What do you want? Get away from me!
(One of
the demons throws a stone arm to block her path The girl, leap frogs over it
and runs down a steep flight of stairs, The demons close behind. Yusuke jump in
and starts beating the crap out the demons. The girl hides behind a small hutch
I believe is used for offerings.)
Yusuke: SHOT
GUN!
(Yusuke’s
fist glows with blue light and he blows away some of the demons, but not all of
them. The girl peeks out from her hiding place, and a demon that looks like a
Cycloptic Mummy lands in front of her. As the demon rears up we see a mark in
the shape of a cross (Not the one Christ was hung from) on the demon’s
chest. It grabs the girl around the neck with one hand and starts to strangle
her. The other demons are laughing in amusement. Kuwabara bursts on to the
scene disposing of one demon and slaughtering the demon holding the girl. The
girl is thrown and lands hard on the flagstone walk way Kuwabara lands by the
girl and grabs her shoulders.)
Kuwabara: You’re safe now.
(The
girl sees two demons behind Kuwabara, and screams getting out of the way. The
two demons try to kill Kuwabara but he moves out of the way in time.)
Demons: Die!
Kuwabara: Okay, SPIRIT SWORD, YAH!
(Kuwabara slices a
demon strait down the middle, and slashes through several other demons while
Yusuke pounds others to death. Kuwabara finishes off the last demon and ends up
destroying a Stone Lantern as well. He looks at the damage sheepishly.)
Kuwabara: Uh oops. I
didn’t mean to do that.
(Kuwabara
glances over at one of the demons, who has the symbol of a cross on his
forehead. The symbol glows then fades to non-existence Kuwabara then banishes
his Spirit Sword. The girl comes out of hiding.)
Yusuke: Are you okay?
Girl: Yes! You two are investigators from the Spirit World aren’t
you?
Yusuke: And you are…?
Girl: I’m Hinageshi, guide to the Spirit World.
(At a
remote temple in the middle of a forest Yusuke and Kuwabara are gathered with
Hinagashi and Genkai. All of them are sitting around a feverish Botan
Botan’s hair is let lose from its usual pony tail. The blue haired girl
is currently in a feverish state.)
Girl: Botan… What is this? What could have happened?
(Keiko
walks into the room with a with a bowl of water and places a wash cloth on
Botan’s forehead. Yusuke looks at Botan then up at Genkai.)
Yusuke: Genkai, how is her condition?
Genkai: I’m not sure.
It’s still in the balance.
Something serious must have happened to the Spirit World.
(Genkai glances to a
side door; Yusuke also glances in that direction as Kurama enters. He is
dressed in a pair of white tweed pants, and a dark blue turtle-neck with a
black windbreaker.)
Kuwabara: Kurama!
Kurama: The Spirit World… It was…it was gone.
Kuwabara: What?!?
(Every
one gasps in surprise. In the next room)
Kurama: Actually, that is not accurate. I should say it was
completely covered by water.
Kuwabara: But-but why?
Kurama: Some immeasurably strong power but have gained control.
Kuwabara: No way…
Genkai: What could
have the power to do that to the Spirit World?
Kurama: When I was there, some phantoms wearing the pattern of a
cross on their foreheads were franticly looking for something.
Hinageshi: Oh! It
must have been the Netherworld!
(Genkai
hmm’s as if the name sounded familiar.)
Yusuke: Netherworld…?
Hinageshi: Those phantoms that Kurama saw, were demons
controlled by the Netherworld. Their symbol is that cross on their foreheads.
Kuwabara: Hey, hold it. What is this
“Netherworld”? As far
as I know, (Ticks each world off on his
fingers.) there are just the Human World, Spirit World, and the Demon
World, right?
(Hinageshi
reaches into her Kimono and pulls out her guide book.)
Hinageshi: Let’s see. Ah, hear it is. To begin with, above
the Human World lies the Spirit World. The two of them remain in constant
balance with each other.
(As
Hinagashi speaks the scene shifts to the Huge Mural depicting the fight between
the Spirit World and the Demon World in the Anti-Chamber of the Great Vault.)
Kuwabara: Humans who have died do go to the Spirit World.
Hinageshi: Right and the Netherworld was above and in balance
with the Demon World as well. Then, several thousand years ago, the Netherworld
began a war with the Spirit World in order to gain possession of the Human
World. Exactly how we were able to defeat them is still unknown to this
day. But Emperor Enma did finally
destroy the Netherworld and banished their King Yakumo and his men to the cold
darkness of space. And that’s it.
Yusuke: So if that’s true, how did the Netherworld come
back into existence?
Genkai: If the Netherworld is responsible for this
disturbance...it could become a very dangerous situation for us all. Even with
our powers, we cannot repel them on our own.
(Everyone
in the room sits silently in thought as a sinister wind blows through the room
and the trees out side. In one high tree Hiei stands silently. He had been
listening to the conversation.)
Hiei: The Netherworld. Well in any case, it has nothing to do
with me.
(Hiei
starts to zip off to where ever turning back he hears about another visitor to
Genkai’s temple.)
Kuwabara: Yukina! Yukina is here?! Whoooh! Yukina! Yukina, Yukina!
(Kuwabara bursts out
of the temple door and prances down the porch chanting Yukina’s name)
Keiko: Kazuma, she’s with Botan.
(Kuwabara
prances in the other direction, Keiko steps out of the way to avoid getting run
over. Kuwabara arrives at the room where Botan is sleeping and throws open the
door.)
Kuwabara: Yukina! Ah Yukina, it is me Kazuma. It’s so very
nice to see you. Huh, Yukina…
(Yukina
looks up at him, her eyes brimming with tears.)
Yukina: Oh Kazuma…I’m sorry. I’m glad to see
you, but…
Kuwabara: Don’t…
Yukina: But why is… Botan…?
Kuwabara: An unhappy face like that doesn’t suit you,
Yukina. No… I, the mighty Kazuma Kuwahara, shall resolve everything for
all of us! Soon we’ll all be smiling happily again. Oh Yukina!
(Yukina
smiles up at him. Kuwabara kneels and gathers her hands in his. His faces also
turns red, steam rises from his neck.)
Yukina: Oh Kazuma, a-are you alright? Your temperature is going
up and up!
Kuwabara: That is the power of love.
Yukina: (Mentally) He’s so hard to understand.
(The two
of them laugh.)
Keiko: Kuwahara! Your in the way!
(Hiei
zips down and watches his sister from the garden.)
Hiei: Yukina….
Kurama: So, Hiei. Why don’t you tell Yukina you are her
older brother?
(Hiei
glances to the right but, doesn’t turn around Kurama is leaning against a
post in a corner of the garden. The shadows the around him seem to melt before
he speaks again.)
Hiei: I don’t need your advice.
Kurama: Right… You saw the Spirit World, the condition it
is in. This is no ordinary event.
Hiei: How would I know?
(Hiei
zips off. Kurama watches him leave. A new day begins, Yusuke, Kurama, and
Kuwabara meet with Hinageshi and Genkai to discus how they were to be able to
ward off the Netherworld)
Kuwabara: So what
should we do, Hinageshi?
Hinageshi: We have to transmit power to the Spirit World.
Kuwabara: How do we do that?
Hinageshi: Look here. (Places
a scroll down in front of her.) There are places in the Human World called
Elemental Sites, where Spiritual Energy is collected.
Yusuke: Elemental Sites?
Kuwabara: Like storage tanks for Spiritual power?
Hinageshi: Yes, something like that. In the Human World there
are five of these Elemental Sites representing the Earth, Wind, Fire, Water,
and The Spirit. If they are all unsealed that amassed Spiritual Power will be
sent to the Spirit World.
Kuwabara: With that power we will be able to restore the Spirit
World. So, where are they?
Hinageshi: I know where to look.
Kuwabara: All right then! Leave it to me!
(In the
city sometime the previous night a dark and sinister man with wild white hair
walks down a tunnel. He grins evilly.)
Evil Man: Come, my servants!
(He
sends a blast of purplish pink energy down the tunnel it explodes out side, as
if a bomb went off. Three red lights come down from the sky and converge on top
of a building that is being constructed.)
Evil Man: Are you here with me?
Bald Demon: Yes my lord! Your three Demon Gods, have
arrived.
Evil Man: Now! Our strategy has entered the second stage.
It’s time to make the power of the Elemental Sites ours. Go!
Demon Gods: My lord.
(A woman
stops at a produce shop. Yusuke, Kurama, and Kuwabara follow Hinageshi up the
street as they look for the elemental sites)
Man: Can I interest you in any produce?
Woman: Yes, I was looking for some avocados.
Do you carry those?
Man: Yes, ma’am!
(Hinageshi
stops to examine the map.)
Hinageshi: Okay, turn at this corner, so north
is behind you...
Kuwabara: Come on! Where the hell is it?
Hinageshi: Hold on a minute!
(The
ground shakes suddenly taking the foursome by surprise. Kurama and Yusuke look
around suspiciously.)
Kuwabara: What? What is this, an earthquake?
(All
four look in the sky and see a column of pinkish-purple light ascending into
the sky.)
Hinageshi: It’s the Elemental Site
representing Earth!
Kurama:
Yusuke, lets move!
(The four friends arrive at a shrine and are
nearly blown away, by the awesome power of the elemental site. Streaming out is
a mass of purplish pink energy.)
Kuwabara: Oh my god! What’s going on?!
Yusuke: Oh…it’s incredible!
Hinageshi: This is no good.
Kuwabara: What do ya mean, “No good”?!
Hinageshi: Look there…look at that color! The Elemental Site has been
destroyed. What is streaming out
isn’t Spiritual Power but the power of the Netherworld!
Yusuke: The Netherworld!
Hinageshi: Those demons are able to convert Spiritual Power into
Netherworld Power.
Kuwabara: So that’s Netherworld Power--?
(Hinagashi
gasps and looks at her guide book for a moment.)
Hinageshi: If they are able to steal the power from each of the
Elemental Sites, then they…
Kuwabara: Yeah… then…?
Hinageshi: Then the Spirit World will be inaccessible
forever!
(Kuwabara
freaks.)
Yusuke: And then there will be nothing any of us will be able to
do!
Hinageshi: Right!
Yusuke: Let’s hurry! They may still be ahead of us, but we
must protect the other sites! Let’s split up! Are you ready?!
Kuwabara: Okay!
(Hinageshi
and Yusuke run together along the harbor determined to get to get to next
elemental site.)
Hinageshi: I’ll never be able to repay Botan the kindness
I owe her.
Yusuke: Kindness?
Hinageshi: I always made mistakes and caused problems for Botan.
Yusuke: No! Don’t give up!
Hinageshi: I’ll try my hardest, Yusuke.
(The two
reach what seemed to be a dead end for them.)
Hinageshi: Umm…let see. Oh it’s this way! Up these
stairs!
Yusuke: Alright. Let’s go!
(Yusuke
and Hinageshi race up the stairs and then come to a stop.)
Hinageshi: What is it?
(Hinageshi
looks ahead of her and gasps.)
Hinageshi: Everything is completely different!
(A head
of them is a road of apartment buildings. Yusuke and Hinageshi continue to
search for the Elemental Site. Up ahead one of the buildings crumbles as if it
was demolished.)
Hinageshi: Oh Yusuke, it crumbled just like that!
(Three
Demons leap onto the rubble for a moment before diving into to it.)
Yusuke: Netherworld demons.
Hinageshi: Oh, they beat us here again!
Yusuke: Come on! We
may still make it!
Hinageshi: Wait!
(Yusuke
and Hinageshi follow the demons into a car port below. The three demons
approach the Elemental site.)
Hinageshi: Look that’s the Elemental Site of Fire!
Yusuke: What?! Hold it!
(Yusuke
runs forward determined, to stop the demons from destroying the Elemental Site.
Oddly these demons look like some of the demon’s from the audience of the
Ankoku Bojitsukai.)
Yusuke: Get away from thaaat!!!
(The
demons see him. One of the demons leaps at him, Yusuke punches him away.
Another rushes at him, Yusuke dodges him and then head buts him in the side of
the face, before punching him away. The third demon leaps into the air with a
sword and attempting to slice Yusuke in half. Yusuke clasps his hands together
at he jumped out of the way and brings his them down on the back of the demons
head. The demon hits the ground and is suddenly burned away.)
Yusuke: It’s over, Hinageshi! What do we do now?
(The car
lights illuminating the site suddenly switch off.)
Yusuke: You’ve got to be kidding me!
(A
couple of cars explode and Hinageshi screams in terror.)
Yusuke: Hinageshi!!
(Yusuke runs to her aid, but is blown aside by an
exploding car.)
Yusuke: Ah, damn!
Hinageshi: My body!
What is this?!
(Hinageshi
is being levitated in mid-air. Purpleish-pink light starts to envelope her. The
dark and sinisterly ugly man from earlier approaches her)
Hinageshi: Oh no stop!
(He holds his hand
over Hinageshi as if scanning her for something. Then he brings his hand down
in disappointment.)
Evil Man. This girl is not the one I seek.
Yusuke: Wait!
Yakumo: It seems your friend is still here.
(The man
glance at Yusuke then manipulates Hinagashi so she is shifted while in
mid-air.)
Yusuke: Stop it! No!
(Hinageshi
is thrown at Yusuke. Yusuke catches her, but is knocked down doing so. The man
approaches them.)
Yusuke: Oh you really did it now!
(Yusuke gets up and
runs at the man.)
Yusuke: Come on!
(Yusuke attempts to
punch the man who deftly dodges as if he just floated out of the way.)
Yusuke: Aw damn!
(The man knees Yusuke
in the gut sending him crashing into a parked car. Yusuke painfully sits up.
The man is somewhat surprised by this.)
Man: A normal human you are not?! There for you must be a tool
for the Spirit World.
(Yusuke knocks open
the door of car and tumbles out. He then struggles to get up again.)
Yusuke: Who are you? Tell me!
Yakumo: King of the Netherworld, Yakumo.
(Hinageshi unbeknownst
to them over hears.)
Hinageshi: Yakumo… YUSUKE!
(Yusuke doesn’t hear
her warning so he readies his Spirit Gun and fires.)
Yusuke: Here we go! Spirit Gun!
(Surprisingly to
Yusuke, it gets deflected.)
Yusuke: What! I-It didn’t get through to him!
Yakumo: Your power is nothing. (Holds out his hand.) Be gone!
(Purplish-pink energy
floods the area. Yusuke gets shocked by energy bolts to Netherworld power.
Yakumo walks toward the Elemental site as Hinageshi comes out of hiding and
runs up to Yusuke.)
Hinagashi: Yusuke! Are you okay?!
(Hinagashi rolls
Yusuke’s head onto her lap. Yakumo stops fight feet away from the
Elemental Site and destroys it with a blast of Netherworld power.)
Hinageshi: Yusuke! (Looks over at Yakumo) Yakumo! King of
the Netherworld! But why…?!
(Yakumo blasts the
Elemental Site again charging it with Netherworld power. The Elemental Site
erupts into a column of Netherworld power. Yakumo turns and seems to walk
toward Yusuke and Hinageshi. Yusuke who has regained conciseness tenses and is
ready for anything. Yakumo however disappears.)
Yusuke: Damn! (Punches
the floor.)
(Yakumo stand on a
rock in the middle of the sea that had once been the Reikai. Waves crash around
him.)
Yakumo: Power Sphere… source of our energy. Plundered in
the distant past by the Spirit World… Once it has been returned to us,
our hopes will finally be realized. The leaders of the Spirit World must have
hidden it well. They would not have it protected by such small beings.
(Below the water the Gate of Judgment
rests like the Titanic surrounded by purplish-pink light.)
Yakumo: Where is it? Where did they hide it?
(The lake, ducks fly way
in the for ground as Kuwabara runs down a foot path that leads to a small
island in the center of the lake. On the island is a small mound like hut which
houses the Elemental Site.)
Kuwabara: This must be the Elemental Site of the Soul. Alright,
its time to open it up. Huh…what? Whoa!
(Kuwabara cracks his
knuckles in preparation. Something bubbles in the water, when Kuwabara goes to
investigate a column of water shoots up and turns mirror like. Kuwabara looks
at his reflection for a moment before turning back to the site. He returns and starts making
face’s his reflection smirks and laughs at him speaking with someone else’s
voice.)
Kuwabara’s reflection: Fools are amusing.
Kuwabara: Hey! Who the hell are you?!
(Kuwabara’s
reflection laughs evilly at him as he walks toward Kuwabara. However instead of
the mirror image of Kuwabara walking out of the water column, a some what
effeminate, pale blue skinned, demon with long light blue hair emerges.)
Demon: I am one of the three demon gods of the Netherworld,
Majari. I shall destroy that elemental site.
Kuwabara: Go ahead! Give it your best shot!
Majari: I shall kill anyone in my way.
Kuwabara: Ooh, aren’t you superior? Spirit Sword!
(Kuwabara calls forth
his sword)
Majari: Ooh that looks interesting.
Kuwabara: Come on! I’m going to kick….
Majari: Spirit Sword!
(Majari calls a Spirit
Sword of his own.)
Majari: Let me show you what I’m known for. I can mirror
my opponents and I have copied your skills. So you have no chance at victory.
Kuwabara: Say that after we’ve fought! Come on!
(The two fight, but
Majari true to his word matches Kuwabara blow for blow and lands a slash to
Kuwabara’s shoulder drawing blood. Majari laughs at Kuwabara while
Kuwabara growls at the mirror demon. Meanwhile Hiei stands on a high vantage
point. Turning we see that his Jagan is open to assist him in finding the Elemental
Site. )
Hiei: It’s over there!
(Locating the site he
starts toward it when a red haired demon crashes through a glass window and
charges at him. The two have a mid-air battle. A blue haired demon who looks
like the red haired demon attacks Hiei who notices just in time. The red haired demon attempts an attack
from above. Again Hiei sees this in time. Both the red haired and blue haired
demons attempt to strike him as one Hiei dodges their strikes. The three of
them descend on to what appears to be the freeway below causing a few cars to
crash as the drivers swerve to avoid hitting them. )
Hiei: Don’t mess with me!
(The red haired demon
lands on a road sign and is sliced in half by Hiei. The blue haired demon seems
to have mortally wounded Hiei with his sword. Hiei suddenly disappears and reappears
behind Blue haired demon before slaying him. A tall, bald, cloaked demon
appears behind Hiei. Hiei sees him just before is sent flying into a building
and then fall into the river below by the force of the demon’s Jagan. In
the meantime Kurama is about to face some demons of his own. He starts to glow
and send his energy into the Elemental Site. )
Kurama: Yes!
(He doesn’t
notice a strange mist is forming behind him. Within it a demon starts to
transform into another demon apparently someone Kurama knows or knew.)
Monster: I have taken your past!
Kurama: Who’s that?!
(Kurama turns
defensively.)
Monster: “Who is that?” I can’t believe you would
say that to your old partner.
(The demon swings a
red-stone pendant hypnotically. A train passed on the bridge illuminating them
with its passing light. )
Kurama: Kuronue….
Kuronue: Or do you mean to say you have forgotten about your terrible
past?
(We get a good look at
the demon. A demon dressed in black and gray with bat like ears and wings.)
Kuronue: Hello Kurama.
Kurama: (Gasps)
You’re still alive!
Kuronue: Try to remember that day. The day we snuck into the
palace of the Demon World.
(Flash Back. Youko
Kurama and Kuronue are scampering away from a palace. Kurama has a Gold Mirror
under his arm. Solders go running
after them. As they are running the
chain of Kuronue’s pendant snaps. He uses a stalk of bamboo like a spring
board and goes after it. )
Youko Kurama: DON'T, KURONUE!
Kuronue: I need it!
(Kuronue picks up the
pendant and was going to rejoin Kurama when spike of bamboo strikes him in the
leg and cages around him. Kurama in silent horror.)
Youko Kurama: KURONUE!
Kuronue: You… traitor!
(End of flash back.)
Kuronue: You deliberately cut my pendant in order to trap me!
(Clip of Youko Kurama
reaching out with an evil grin on his face. His eyes glow red. )
Kuronue: You sacrificed me so that you alone could escape!
(Clip of Youko Kurama
smirking maliciously and then running off.)
Kurama: (Starts to get
frustrated.) No…! No,
that’s not what happened!
Kuronue: How dare you say that to me, after trying to kill me!
Kurama: What are you talking about?! That day… I tried to
save you! (Emotions start to over take
him.)
Kuronue: You set a trap for me and then you left me to die,
while you saved yourself.
(Kurama’s face
is reflected in Korunoe’s blue eyes. We can see what looks like drops of
sweat but then again they could also be tears on his face. Kurama’s
reflection is replaced with Youko Kurama with an evil look on his face. Kuronue
throws his scythe at Kurama. Kurama attempt to dodge but is hit anyway and
falls to the ground. He looks up just in time to see Kuronue destroys the
Elemental Site. The Netherworld energy blasts up into the air. )
Kuronue: Goodbye old partner. (Disappears)
Kurama: Where have you gone?! Kuronue…! (Keels over in pain)
(Kuwabara is still
squared off when he sees a couple more columns of Netherworld energy shoot into
the air.)
Majari: So then, it would appear we have opened the other sites.
Kuwabara: No way.
(Kuwabara looks up in time
and sees Majari leaping at him and parries Majari’s blow. Yusuke and
Hinageshi arrive at the
Yusuke: Kuwahara!
Hinageshi: No wait!
Look at the weapon he has!
Yusuke: A Spirit Sword!
Hinageshi: That demon has the ability to mirror his
opponent’s techniques as well as the powers and use them against him. His
name is Majari, one of the three despised Demon Gods from the Netherworld.
Yusuke: What…?!
Hinageshi: You can’t help him, Yusuke! If you try,
he’ll steal your techniques, too!
(Majari manages to
knock Kuwabara to the ground disabling Kuwabara’s Sword.)
Majari: And now, we finish it.
(Kurama arrives he
still clutches at his wounded side. Majari glances at the new arrival with
interest.)
Kurama: Kuwahara!
Kuwabara: Stop joking around. Even if this is the end,
we’ll never let you have it. Here, take this!
(Kuwabara places his
hand on the ground and fires a Spirit Shirikan. Majari dodges but is still grazed
by it.)
Majari: Well, well, not bad. Though I will not be defeated
either. You don’t have any more tricks, do you? I won’t be careless
again.
Kuwabara: You fool! I just developed a new killing
technique!
Majari: What?!
(Kuwabara starts releasing
all the Spirit Energy he has Kurama, Yusuke, and Hinageshi watch in horror
Yusuke and Hinageshi move over to where Kurama is standing.)
Majari: Impressive…releasing your entire store of
Spiritual Energy at once. Thank you for showing me how.
(Both Majari and
Kuwabara’s powers collide causing the tranquil lake that surrounds them
to be disturbed in the end it seems Majari was the victor.)
Majari: Pitiful creature.
Kuwabara: (Laughs) I
caught you!
Yusuke: He’s totally crazy!
Kuwabara: Majari, now you are all out of energy, too.
(Majari tries to call
his power and sure enough Kuwabara was right.)
Majari: No…no!
Kuwabara: Give it up, it’s done!
(Kuwabara punches
Majari sending the mirror demon to fly backward.)
Majari: You…!
Kuwabara: There’s something I’m proud of too. In a
true contest of guts…I have…never been…beaten!
(Kuwabara punches
Majari again sending Majari sky high. Majari crashes dead on the ground next to
the Elemental Site.)
Kuwabara: I win. That’s it.
(Kuwabara collapses
Yusuke, Hinageshi and Kurama run up to check on him.)
Yusuke: Kuwahara! Hey, Kuwahara!
Kuwabara: Hurry… and ...unseal it.
Hiei: Watch out!
Jump, Yusuke!
(Yusuke gets out of the
way, Hiei appears and grabs Hinageshi pushing her out of the way of an oncoming
from out of no where. The final site is destroyed.)
Kurama: Hiei!
Hinageshi: Oh no…the final site!
(Hiei pulls off his
head band revealing his Jagan he momentarily sees Yakumo standing on top of a
building in the distance. With the final sight destroyed a wall seems to start
forming and the Spirit Detectives are seemingly blown away. )
Yakumo: (Laughs) With
this, the return of the Netherworld is nearly upon us.
(One of the remaining
Demon Gods appears.)
Bald Demon: Lord Yakumo…
Yakumo: Is it definite?
Bald Demon: Yes. One more female from the Spirit World exists.
Yakumo: Excellent! I have waited many years for this the moment the
Netherworld would be restored on new territory.
(The Four Reikai
Tantei and Hinageshi lay in a circle on the shore of the river. Presently they
begin to awaken.)
Yusuke: Huh? Where
…are we?
Hinageshi: (Gasps)
Look!
(Everyone looks and
sure enough in the distance is a Purplish glow where the Elemental Sites were.)
Kurama: It appears we were somehow transported over here.
Hinageshi: What do they expect us to do now?
(Hiei and Kuwabara
growl, Kurama winces in pain and Yusuke looks on in angry determination. Day
light comes and the Tantei take the time to think of how to reach Yakumo and to
recuperate since two of them are wounded. Kuwabara’s lost Spirit Energy
has not returned most likely due to Spirit World being sealed off . Kurama,
Hiei, and Kuwabara have a meeting in Kuwabara’s room. Hinageshi sits on
the floor and looks over a few books.)
Kurama: That must be it. A shield has risen around the area the
Netherworld appeared in.
Kuwabara: Well then,
explain this to me. Why isn’t the entire city going nuts?
Kurama: That’s the power of the Netherworld. It has caused
the people not to notice things they normally would have. Where’s Yusuke?
Kuwabara: Keiko went back to the temple, so Yusuke went with her
to check on Botan.
(Hiei gets fed up and
opens the door to the balcony.)
Kuwabara: What’s wrong with you?
Hiei: If no one here has a good plan, I’ll take care of it
myself.
(Yakumo and the Bald
Demon God arrive at Genkai’s temple. The ward that is suspended over the
second flight of stairs burns and drops. Botan’s condition reacts to
Yakumo’s presence the lights flicker out and the room fills with a
lavender light that fills the room. )
Yukina: Oh, Botan!
Genkai: There is tremendous energy here.
(Genkai runs on to the
porch and sees Yakumo and his Demon God.)
Genkai: Who are you?!
Bald Demon: Shall I…?
Yakumo: She’s mine.
Genkai: This is my temple! How dare you enter this domain
without my permission!
(Genkai charges at
Yakumo but I s deflected.)
Genkai: (Gasps) He’s
strong!
(Yakumo sends a blast
up at Genkai but Genkai blocks it.)
Bald Demon: What?!
This old woman repels my Great Lord!
(Genkai lands.
Yakumo’s focus is toward the temple. Genkai realizes what or more rather
who the two invaders were after and tries to stop them.)
Yakumo: That’s it.
Genkai: Get away from my temple!
(Yukina watches in
horror as Genkai crashes through the door and collides with the wall.)
Yukina: No…stay away!
Yakumo: So then, I have finally found it.
(Yukina tries to stop
them but the Bald Demon Gods Jagan eye opens sending blasting Yukina into the
wall.)
Yukina: STAY AWAY FROM HER!!!
(Yakumo levitates
Botan in to the air and tries to take something out of her body. Yusuke feels
what is going on.)
Yakumo: I’ve found the Power Sphere; it’s inside
this girl’s body.
Yusuke: What’s that?! Keiko, stay here! I’ll be right back!
Keiko: Yusuke!
Yusuke: Hold it!
(Yusuke sees what has
been done to his friend and becomes angered .)
Yusuke: Not again!
Yakumo: You again? You can’t stand the fact that I beat
you. Like a whipped dog.
Yusuke: Oh, you’re dead!
(Keiko comes up behind
Yusuke but Yakumo blows her back down the stairs.)
Keiko: Yusuke!
Yusuke: KEIKO!!
(Yusuke tries to go
see if she’s okay but Yakumo appears in front of him and socks him in the
stomach. Yusuke flies into the temple damaging the main door the tori gate and
part of the roof.)
Yakumo: Learn your rightful place!
(The Bald Demon God
appears with Botan slung over his shoulder.)
Yakumo: The time has come. I have retrieved the Power Sphere of
the Netherworld!
(Yusuke gets up.)
Yusuke: Power….Sphere…?
Yakumo: The time of the Nether Worlds restoration has finally
arrived for us all. (Laughs then
Disappears.)
Yusuke:
Oh…no… (tries to hold a
frustrated sob) Botan!
(Kurama, Hinageshi,
Kuwabara and Hiei all arrive later and learn of what happened. All too late to
be much help. Kurama speaks with Genkai.)
Kurama: Are you injured?
Genkai: I am fine.
(Hiei
wonders off and finds Hinageshi tending to Keiko and Yukina’s injuries.
Kuwabara comes running in behind him devastated over what had befallen the love
of his life.)
Hiei: Yukina….
Kuwabara: Yukina!
Hinageshi: Shh, Kuwahara! She just fell asleep.
(Kuwabara
starts to reach out for Yukina but then, frustrated, runs out and punches
something. Hiei’s bandaged hand clenches into a fist as he silently vows
to kill who ever hurt his estranged sister.)
Kuwabara: Damn…!
(Hinageshi
goes out to comfort Yusuke. She finds him sitting on the temples front steps.)
Hinageshi: Oh Yusuke, its going to be alright!
Keiko’s injuries aren’t too serious.
(Genkai
comes out of the temple’s main entrance clutching her shoulder.)
Genkai: Those bastards said they had found a
Power Sphere inside of Botan. Now they have the Sphere, the very source of
their power--
(Kurama
walks up and joins in the conversation.)
Kurama: Even though they have retrieved the
Power Sphere the Netherworld is extinct. No place to go and the Spirit World
gone Yakumo and his brethren have one aim in mind.
Genkai: Yes. It is to obtain their true
restoration here in the Human World.
Botan probably knew that when Koenma entrusted her with the Sphere.
(Kurama
lowers his head as if in regret about something.)
Genkai: She hid it inside her own body so that
those demons wouldn’t find it. She risked her life knowing that its power
would overwhelm her like that.
(Yusuke
gasps in shock about the fact he hadn’t noticed when she first fell into
his arms.)
Genkai: And we never even realized.
(Genkai
walks back into the temple and Kurama walks off towards the forest. Both
leaving Hinageshi and Yusuke to grieve by themselves. Kuwabara had listened to
the conversation.)
Kuwabara: If only I had just a little power
left…
(In the
forest Kurama stands before the hot spring and sees a vision of Kuronue
reflected in the water.)
Kuronue: Kurama, you left me for dead.
(Kurama
gasps then clutches at his wound. He is already beginning to wonder whether he
had in fact abandoned his friend that fateful day. Hinageshi starts crying
about Botan.)
Hinageshi: Botan…You wanted me to
notice. If only I had been more aware…I’m so sorry...
(Yusuke’s
shoulders shake as he begins to think about what he should have noticed before
and those who have been hurt because of his failure. Yakumo taunts him in his
thoughts.)
Yusuke: (Mentally)
Keiko!
Yakumo: You are afraid of me, weak one?
Yusuke:
(Mentally) Botan!
Yakumo: I shall take the Power Sphere and this
girl.
Yusuke:
(Mentally) Twice…twice I haven’t been able to save you, Botan.
(Yusuke
sees a vision of Botan reaching out for him and begging him for help.)
Botan: Please, Yusuke. Yusuke…
Yusuke: (Mentally)
Even now, Botan is trying to prevent
them from having their Power Sphere.
(Yusuke
leaps up into the air with a cry of rage summersaults and land on his feet
Yusuke rants to Yakumo as he rises to a standing position. His power starts to
storm around him Hinageshi and Kuwabara watch)
Yusuke: You think I’ll just let you get
away with that so easily! You think you can get way from MEEEEE! YAKUMO!!!
Kuwabara: We may have no chance in hell to
win, but we cannot let it end this way!
(Kuwabara
punches down a tree. In the forest Kurama has chosen to settle the score once
and for all. Something about the Kuronue he saw just didn’t seem right.
He has his clothes folded over the top of a bush.)
Kurama: The Spirit World and the Human World
can not be wiped out.
(Kurama steps into the spring. He plucks
a sprig of bamboo and stuffs it into his hair. Hiei’s tosses away his
headband and opens his Jagan eye.)
Hiei: This time we will start the attack from
our side.
(Hinageshi
prays before she goes to join the others. She has a head band on her forehead.
Hinageshi: Botan, I swear I will…
(Keiko
who is awake but still resting hears Hinagashi run by but thinks it may have
been Yusuke.)
Keiko: Yusuke.
(There
is an instrumental sequence as everyone marches off to go face the threat.
Hinageshi and Yusuke met up with Kuwabara outside the temple grounds. As they
enter the city Kurama seems to melt out of the shadows from where he is leaning
against a building then walks joins up with his three friends. Hiei leaps from
building to building like a grasshopper and lands in front of his four companions
and falls into line with them. The street lights flash wildly and mist starts
to fill the streets. The Tantei run up to this area that is a more industrial
part of town. Hinageshi is a little iffy about the path their on. )
Hinageshi: Not this way…
Kurama: No, it doesn’t make any
difference.
(At that
moment a scythe comes though the mist and lands in front of them. Kuronue
appears.)
Kuronue: You are correct, Kurama.
Kurama: Kuronue!
Yusuke: You know him?!
Kurama: He was a partner of mine at one time.
Let me take care of it.
(Kuronue
leaps back onto the top of a crane. )
Kuronue: Kurama, are you still against your
old partner?
Kuwabara: His old partner…is he alright?
Kuronue: Come, Kurama!
(Kuronue
then jumps into the mist below him. Kurama looks around and sees an elevator
that leads down into the mist and take it. Yusuke calls out his friend name as
Kurama descends into unknown danger.)
Yusuke:
KURAMA!
(Kurama
walks out of the elevator and starts looking for Kuronue. Kuronue appears
behind him. Hasn’t noticed yet but scythes swing like pendulums around
him for some dark purpose.)
Kuronue: You are truly despicable. In the past
you fled and left me to die. Now you are trying to destroy our dream, my old
friend.
(Kuronue
throws a scythe at Kurama who dodges.)
Kurama: Kuronue, it is true that I could not
rescue you that day, but please believe this. I tried, I really tried...
Kuronue: Silence!
(More
scythes are thrown at Kurama who dodges them. However when he comes down after
a high jump he stagers and falls to one knee as his wound from earlier
reopens.)
Kuwabara: Kurama! I can’t do anything
for him with all this damn fog everywhere!
Hiei: This is his problem. He has to resolve
it all on his own.
Kurama: Don’t do this! Rose Whip!
(Kurama
uses his whip to block the scythes heading his direction then falls to knees
from blood loss and emotionally induced exhaustion.)
Kuronue: (Laughs)
What’s wrong? You’re not fighting back?
Kurama: Kuronue, what you’re trying to
do now is wrong.
Kuronue: You say it’s wrong? How dare
you say that!
Kurama: Listen to me, Kuronue!
Kuronue: Shut…Your…Mouth!
(Kuronue
leaps at Kurama slashing him on the shoulder with his scythe.)
Kuronue: You still haven’t remembered
have you…you left me! You traitor!
(Kurama
begins to doubt himself. His eyes grow fearful and Kuronue chants the word
“Traitor”)
Kuronue: Traitor! Traitor! Traitor! raitor!
(The
other Tantei and Hinageshi hear the cutting sound of the scythes and the rock
trough the air.)
Kuwabara: What the hell is that creepy noise?
(Hiei
throws his sword which knocks down one of the scythes. He goes to pick it up.)
Hiei: I thought so.
Yusuke: What is it?
Hiei: He’s causing scythes like this to
resonate and create a shield. With
in it, he creates evil hallucinations.
Hinageshi: So then, Kurama’s being
tricked?
(Kuronue
throws another scythe at Kurama. Kurama is hit in the leg with this one.)
Kuronue: Now you can make up for your ugly
past!
Kurama: I didn’t…
Kuronue: What’s wrong? Are you going to
kill me, so as to save yourself again? (Laughs)
Kurama: (Mentally)
No, you’re wrong. That time your
pendent…
Kuronue: With this scythe I will cleanse your
pathetic soul. (Tosses away pendant.)
Kurama: (Surprised)
What’s this…?
(Kurama
remembers what really happed the day his late best friend and partner was
killed.)
Youko Kurama: DON’T, KURONUE!
Kuronue: Forget about me Kurama, go…run!
(The
false Kuronue prepares to deliver a final blow to his pray.)
Kuronue: Now I finish you!
(Kurama
pulls the sprig of bamboo out of his hair and prays over it.)
Kurama: Kuronue, please give
me…strength!
(Kurama
pulls the sprig of bamboo out of his hair and prays over it. Kuronue descend
aiming to strike Kurama from behind. )
Kuronue: Die!
(Suddenly
he drops one of his scythes and a lance of bamboo juts out of his back.)
Kuronue: You! You…!
Kurama: (Angrily)
The one with the ugly rotten soul is you! You’re not my old friend
Kuronue!
(Pulls
the bamboo lance out of Korunoe’s body.)
Kurama: Show me your true form!
(The
guise of Kuronue fades revealing a squat brown demon with a shock of gold hair.
He is the second of the Demon Gods to be defeated.)
Demon God: How did you discover my trick?
Kurama: I could tell. First, Kuronue always
carried this pendant with him. He would never just throw it away.
(Kurama’s
Spirit Energy flares about him.)
Kurama: What’s more, no matter the
circumstances he would never attack an enemy from the rear.
(The
Demon God throws a scythe at Kurama but it misses.)
Kurama: Kuronue risked his own life, telling
me to run away. You twisted my memories of our friendship!
(Roots
snake their way to the Demon God and grow into spears of Bamboo that carry the
Demon got to the top of the Bamboo forest.)
Kuwabara: What the….?
(The
Demon God explodes. Hiei jumps into the forest and finds Kurama standing there
in silent mourning.)
Hiei: So even someone as calm as you
occasionally gets angry. That’s good to know.
(Kurama
glances at Hiei but then looks away as if he is going to start crying.)
Kurama: Not being…able to rescue Kuronue
that day--
Hiei: Kurama. There is no one who does not
carry scars on his heart. (Turns and starts to walk away) If
there was someone like that, he would be a shallow soul.
(Yusuke
nods in understanding to Kurama.)
Yusuke: Let's go!
Kurama: Yes.
(The
Tantei continue on their journey to rescue Botan. Kurama has to be carried by
Kuwabara because Kurama’s is in no shape to fight let alone run. Little
do they know they are being watched by the third and final of the Demon Gods.
They soon come with in sight of the shield.)
Kuwabara: Damn! What are we supposed to do
now?
(Hinageshi
sees a flood gate not too far away.)
Hinageshi: Look! We can cross at that flood gate!
Kuwabara: What?!
Yusuke: Alright, let’s go!
(Hiei
stops because he senses something. The Bald Demon God attacks the Tantei and
Hinageshi as well as the flood gate to stop them in their tracks.)
Hiei: What the--?
(When the
smoke clears the flood gate is no more. Suddenly they hear laughter the Bald
Demon God stands atop a street lamp and laughs at them.)
Kuwabara: Hey! Now who the hell is that?
Bald Demon: (Laughs evilly) You maggots are persistent, aren’t you?
(Yusuke
and Kurama get up and prepare for a confrontation. Hinageshi gets behind
Yusuke.)
Bald Demon: Oh, are you planning to fight again? It
seems you won’t learn till I crush you like that old lady and the little
girl in the temple.
Kuwabara: Why you!! So you’re the
bastard who attacked Genkai and Yukina, aren’t you!
Bald Demon: And what if I was?
Kuwabara: You bastard! I, Kazuma Kuwahara,
shall punish you!
(Kuwabara
goes charges to give the Bald Demon God the pounding of a life time but Hiei
trips him.)
Kuwabara: Hiei, what are you doing?!
Hiei: Leave this scum to me. You have no
chance without your Spiritual Power!
(Hiei’s
Jagan opens and he sees the memory of Yukina being thrown into the wall.)
Hiei: I’ll destroy you!
(He
throws off his cloak and unsheathes his sword and flies at Bald Demon God. Bald
Demon God dodges so the only damage Hiei does is to the street lamp and manages
to rip the Bald demons cloke.)
Hiei: What?
Bald Demon: You cannot threat me like the others,
Hiei. You are certainly no match
for my Evil Eye, little one!
Hiei: Little one..?!
(The
bald demons Jagan opens. Hinageshi recognizes who he is.)
Hinageshi: That’s one of the three Demon
Gods, he’s Raiko.
Yusuke: What type of creature is he?
Hinageshi: A very powerful one. He can draw
out wickedness from his opponent’s soul and manipulate it with his Evil
Eye.
Yusuke: What do you mean “Draw out
wickedness”?
Hinageshi: I mean Hiei’s going to become
evil!
(Hiei
runs up the side of a building and his a mid air battle with Raiko for a moment
before their power repels them apart and sends the crashing in to a couple of
buildings.)
Hiei: This is for you hell scum! Aw, damn...
Raiko: Let your eyes open to the evil that
dwells within your soul!
Hiei: What...?
Raiko: Awaken the evil which sleeps in the
depths of your heart!
(Raiko
starts a chant. Spirit fires that sort of look like flaming heads appear around
him and Hiei.)
Hiei: What’s this…?
Kuwabara: Ahh, what’s that?
Hinageshi: Oh no!
Kurama: If he looks into that evil abyss for
too long his soul will be pulled into their evil world. He can’t!
(Hiei
tries to fight it but is quickly over come by the spell Raiko put on him. Eyes
begin to open all over his body.)
Yusuke: Look! Evil eyes!
Raiko: Now the eyes will open and you shall
despise your friends.
(Hiei’s
body starts to turn green as he turns into his full demon form.)
Raiko: Your true character is an incarnation
of evil! Now go after them servant! Your power is now at its maximum. SMASH
THEM!
Yusuke: AHHH, HIEI! STOP!
(The
bandages around Hiei’s arm burn revealing the Black Dragon on his arm. It
roars and energy of the black dragon starts to surge.)
Kurama: He’s preparing for the Black
Dragon Wave!
Kuwabara:
Oh…My…God…Were…Doooomed!
Yusuke: No….Hiei!
Raiko: Now, Hiei! FIRE!
(Hiei
releases four dragons which charge at his companions. Kuwabara panics, Hinageshi
becomes overwhelms and nearly falls to her knees Kurama catches her and holds
her protectively like a big brother would.)
Kuwabara: AHHH! Hiei, You bastard, showing us
your true evil character!
Yusuke: NO! HIEI!!
(The
dragons seem to devour Yusuke and company. Raiko laughs at the carnage but
suddenly Hiei reverts back to normal.)
Hiei: NOT SO FAST!
Raigo: WHAT?!
(The
dragons rear up revealing Yusuke, Kurama, Hinageshi, and Kuwabara are unharmed.
Raiko realizes that Hiei had only been pretending to be controlled.)
Raigo: BASTARD!
(The
dragons devour Raiko and plow straight though a building knocking it over. The
building tears down part of the shield and creates a make shift bridge.)
Hinageshi: Part of the shield is down!
Kuwabara: Alright!
Kurama: Hiei!
(Hiei
lands close to his companions and calls the dragons back to him.)
Hiei: Raiko’s Evil Eyes could not seduce
the power of my Black Dragon.
Kuwabara: Wha-? What’s going on?
Yusuke: Hiei was never tricked in the first
place!
Kuwabara: Wha?!
(Hiei
collapses to his knees in exhaustion.)
Yusuke: Hiei!
Kurama: Using the Black Dragon Wave against
those Evil Eyes has exhausted all his Spiritual Energy.
Yusuke: Are you okay?
Hiei: Don’t worry about me. There is no time. Hurry!
Yusuke: Right! Let’s go!
Hinageshi: Okay!
(Yusuke
and Hinageshi run on ahead. Kurama reties a bandage around Hiei’s arm to
hold back the dragon power.)
Kuwabara: Aww man, you sure are a trouble
maker.
(Kuwabara
slings Hiei over his shoulder.)
Kuwabara: Here we go!
Kurama: Kuwahara!
Kuwabara: We all have to see this to the end!
Come on!
(Kurama
and Kuwabara run to catch up with their friends. Yusuke and Hingeshi’s
journey is accompanied by the instrumental version Kurama’s image song
‘nightmare’. That area of the city is gradually becoming flooded.
They reach a building that is in the process of being built. Yakumo’s
strong hold. Hinageshi looks up and sees the light from the Power Sphere.)
Hinageshi: That’s it!
Yusuke: Let’s go!
(Yusuke
and Hinageshi run off to go stop Yakumo.)
Yakumo: So, Raiko and the others are dead. It
doesn’t matter. If the Power Sphere of the Netherworld is returned we
will make the Human World our own. Our years of pain shall finally end.
(Yakumo
holds his hand out to get the Power Sphere. Botan continues to fight him
despite all the pain it causes her.)
Yakumo: Now you shall return the Netherworld
Power Sphere to me. Even unconscious, you are using your final bit of energy to
resist me. It is useless! I alone am the only one that can handle the Power
Sphere! You will only suffer with it.
(Yakumo
sticks his hand into Botan’s stomach attempting to pull out the Power
Sphere. Yusuke and Hinageshi arrive.)
Hinageshi: Botan!
Yusuke: Wait!
Yakumo: Leave me!
(Yusuke
and Hinagashi are blown away but Yusuke brakes Hinageshi’s fall by
getting her to land in a bunch of cardboard boxes. Yakumo continues to try and
get the Power Sphere.)
Yakumo: Don’t fight me!
(Botan
grabs on to Yakumo’s wrist and desperately tries to stop him from taking
the Power Sphere.)
Botan: I will never give it to you!
Yusuke: Botan!
Yakumo: It is useless! Let go, woman!
(Yakumo
gets the Power Sphere and throws Botan like a rag doll. Yakumo laughs in
triumph.)
Yusuke: Botan!
Hinageshi: Oh, Botan!
Botan: I'm sorry, Hinageshi. Involving you in
this dangerous situation...
Hinageshi: Don’t be ridiculous! I should
have realized sooner when you came to us. I’m sorry.
Botan: Oh Hinageshi, it’s not your
fault. I knew …I knew you would figure it out....
(Botan
faints.)
Hinageshi: Botan!
(Botan
however gathers enough strength to beg Yusuke to win before she loses
conciseness again.)
Botan: Yusuke! I couldn't protect the
Power… Sphere. Get... it... back... please.
Hinageshi: Botan! Botan!
Yusuke: Right.
Hinageshi: I won't let you die, Botan!
Yusuke: I will not let you to do what you
want!
(Yusuke
takes off his jacket and prepares to fight Yakumo.)
Yakumo: The origin of the netherworld’s
strength, the Power Sphere has returned.
Now I shall restore our world to its rightful place. HERE I AM GOD AND MASTER!
(Yakumo
uses the power of the Sphere to turn the building they’re on into a
fortress. The streets below flood even more and the earth begins to shake. The
humans who are ignorant about what is happening run for their lives. Yakumo
comes out dressed in some sort of creepy armor.)
Yakumo: Humans seem to be quite stupid
creatures. Do you think you can match me?
Yusuke: We don’t always attack just
because we think we can win.
Yakumo: So then is the great aim of protecting
this world for a sense of justice?
Yusuke: Wrong again Yakumo!
Yakumo: You creatures are quite curious.
(On the
out side of the building vines seem to grow. Kurama and Kuwabara arrive.)
Kuwabara: W-what is this?! What’s going
on…?
Kurama: Come on!
(Kurama
and Kuwabara enter Yakumo’s fortress. At once Kurama runs to where
Hinageshi is tending to Botan.)
Kurama: Botan! Hinageshi!
(Yusuke
is being smashes into the floor by Yakumo’s power.)
Yakumo: I going to create my own world. What is so wrong with that?
Yusuke: Why are you doing it in the Human
World?
Yakumo: You are the ones who called me.
Yusuke:
What?
Yakumo: You said, “Please visit
us.” It was true that my
world was beaten in a battle with the Spirit World. And it is true that it was
sealed in the darkness of Outer Space. I waited patiently for an opportunity. I
collected the evil power of those humans who were sent into space by the Spirit
World. I gathered enough power to destroy the seal. I seemed to get along just
fine with that evil human power which the Spirit World could not handle.
Kuwabara: Aww damn. He set our souls loose!
(Hiei
comes to.)
Hiei: What happened?
Yakumo: Now I will let you taste the power of
human beings’ wicked hearts!
(Yakumo
flicks a ball of energy at Yusuke. Yusuke who has regained the ability to move
for some reason jumps out of the way and charges at Yakumo from behind. Yusuke
manages to gets several punches in but it doesn’t do much damage. The
fight continues to be cat and mouse until Yusuke jumps into the air to get out
of attack range of Yakumo only he notices Yakumo is no longer on the ground.
Yakumo appears behind Yusuke and blasts him with a ball of Netherworld energy.
Yusuke puts his arms in front of his face to brace himself for impact with the
ground. )
Kuwabara: He’s playing around!
Kurama: It’s no match!
Yusuke: Damn!
(Yusuke’s
Spirit Energy flares around him as he readies his Spirit Gun.)
Kuwabara: Yusuke!
Yakumo: You should not waste your remaining
bit of Spiritual Energy.
(Yakumo
fires balls of energy at Yusuke which Yusuke dodges. When Yusuke is close
enough Yakumo tries to punch Yusuke. Yusuke jumps out of the way just in time
so Yakumo causing significant damage to the floor. Kurama gathers Botan into
his arms.)
Kurama: Hurry and get behind the pole!
Yusuke: Oh, Botan!
(Yusuke
keeps the person he is fighting for as incentive for not giving up and fires
his Spirit Gun.)
Yusuke: Spirit Gun!
(The
blast explodes into a cacophony of light when it stops Yusuke falls to the
ground seeming hit by his own attack while Yakumo is unscathed.)
Kuwabara: What happened?
Yakumo: This is my world. I said everything is
according to my thoughts. You cannot harm me. You’re a fool, harming
yourself with your own power. Do you finally see that I am your God?
Kuwabara: Bad news!
Yakumo: The end!
(Yakumo
sends a huge blast of Nether World energy at Yusuke. Kuwabara however runs in a
grabs it.)
Kurama: No, Kuwahara!
(Kuwabara
throws the ball of energy at a pillar before he falls to his knees. )
Kuwabara: You fool. Yusuke isn’t your
only opponent. Did you forget that I’m still here, waiting to kick your
ass?!
(Yakumo
walks up to Kuwabara and kicks him in the head.)
Yakumo: What can you, a human being with out
any Spiritual Energy, do?
(Yusuke
painfully struggles to get up.)
Yusuke: Kuwahara! I’m the one
that’s doing the fighting here!
Kuwabara: Yu-Yusuke…No Yusuke,
don’t worry. I’ll….I’ll (Passes out)
Yusuke: No you rest there my friend! I will
finish him off!
Yakumo: (Laughs)
Are you protecting each other?
Yusuke: What are you laughing at?
Yakumo: The reason you are weak is because you
are stuck believing in that facile friendship.
Yusuke: SHUT UP!
Yakumo: Don’t you know the meaning of
fear? Your body should be feeling
the disparity of my power. It is time for the Human World to become the
Netherworld!
(Yakumo
calls forth the Power Sphere and causes the ground he and Yusuke are standing
on to rise into the air like a pedestal. The city is completely submerged with
the exception of the tops of several sky scrapers. A dome forms over head.)
Hiei: Now what the hell is happening?
(Hinageshi
runs off somewhere.)
Yakumo: Look! I shall blow away you and your
little world!
Hinageshi: Return the Power Sphere to its
rightful place! Give it back! Botan almost died to…!
(Hinageshi
bursts through the dome and lands on Yakumo’s arm and tries to grab the
Power Sphere from him.)
Yusuke: Hinageshi!
(Kurama
leaps onto the pedestal and lashes his rose whip around Yakumo’s right
arm. Hiei tries to slice Yakumo’s trapped arm but his sword breaks.
Yakumo first throws Hinageshi who managed to get the Power Sphere out of
Yakumo’s grasp.)
Yusuke: Hinageshi!
(Yakumo
blasts Hiei away then grabs Kurama’s rose whip and tosses Kurama after
Hiei. Hiei is pissed and starts to summon his power. Kurama stops him.)
Hiei: Damn you!
Kurama: Stop! You’ll die!
(Hiei
powers down but then both look up to see Yakumo before he blasts them with his
energy. Both fighters are knocked unconscious.)
Yusuke: Kurama! Hiei!
Hinageshi: Yusuke…Yusuke...What happened
to the Power Sphere? (Passes out)
(Yusuke
looks over to where the Power Sphere lays on the ground and starts to walk to
it.)
Yusuke: I have no more Spiritual Power left.
But in there…maybe.
Yakumo: What is wrong with you, Boy?
Yusuke: You are certainly very strong and we
may simply be no match for you and your power. But what if…But what if I
did nothing…I could never forgive myself…IF I LET YOU WIN!
(Yusuke
picks up the Power Sphere and screams as he seems to be engulfed by the intense
power of the Netherworld.)
Yakumo: (Scoffs)
Useless. Even Emperor Enma of the Spirit World could not handle the Netherworld
Power. I am the only one who can control it.
(Hiei
wakes up.)
Hiei: Yusuke...
Kuwabara: Yusuke…No DON’T!!
(Kurama
wakes up.)
Yakumo: Now, into my hand the Power
Sphere…
(Somehow
Yusuke has managed to survive the power of the Netherworld and tries to convert
the Power Sphere to Spiritual Power.)
Yakumo: What? It can’t!
Kuwabara: That’s right Yusuke!
Kurama: Yusuke’s burning his soul into
pure power!
(Yusuke’s
shirt is rips off during the battle of powers. Finally Yusuke succeeds into
converting the Power Sphere into Spiritual power and is caught by Kuwabara when
he begins to fall.)
Yusuke: Kuwahara!
Kuwabara: Let me help you, Yusuke. You have
too much Spiritual Power.
(Kuwabara
absorbs some of the Energy. Kurama and Hiei also glow in gold and join Yusuke
and Kuwabara.)
Kurama: Do it, Yusuke!
Hiei: I can’t wait.
Yusuke: Hiei, Kurama, let’s do it!
(All
their energies converge into one Yakumo is taken aback by everything that is
going on.)
Yakumo: Incredible! Does he really have the strength to
change the Netherworld’s power into……Spiritual Energy?
(Yusuke
absorbs the Power Sphere of the Spirit World. And the power of the four
warriors reverts everything to the way it had been before.)
Hinageshi: (Mentally) The feelings of all four have become one!
(Yakumo uses
his power to fire I-beams at them and when that doesn’t work he first
rounds of Netherworld energy at the foursome but the Spiritual Energy
surrounding them is like a force field.)
Yusuke: LEARN YOUR PLACE!
(Yusuke
fires his Spirit Gun at Yakumo who narrowly escapes. Kurama then maneuvers the
blast so it whips around and continues after Yakumo.)
Kuwabara: Go to Hell!
(The
blast of energy slashes at Yakumo like a sword and converts itself into a
dragon when it finally hits Yakumo and plows the lord of the Netherworld to the
base of the building. Everyone waits in tense silence all breath sighs of
relief.)
Kuwabara: Did we do it?
Yusuke:
It’s over.
Kuwabara: It has finally been settled.
Yusuke:
Where are Hinageshi and Botan?
Kurama: Let’s find them!
(Kurama,
Hiei, and Kuwabara start to go look for Hinageshi and Botan. Yusuke suddenly
sees Hinageshi head band.)
Yusuke: Hinageshi!
(Stories
below them are the remains of Yakumo. Yusuke suddenly senses something before a
blast sends his friends flying.)
Yusuke: NO GUYS!
(A hand
grabs hold of Yusuke’s and pulls him into a free fall to the buildings
base. It is none other then Yakumo thought he looks more like a refugee from a zombie
movie. One arm is mostly just tendons and sinew now and all that is left of his
left leg from the knee down is just a bone. Yusuke punches Yakumo away from him
and throws the Power Sphere then readies his Spirit Gun. Yakumo reaches for the
Power Sphere.)
Yusuke: Now you die! SPIRIT GUN!
(Yusuke’s
spirit blast breaks the Power Sphere and vaporizes Yakumo. All traces of the
Netherworld are sent back where they belong and the flood waters drain away.
The force of the spirit blast sends Yusuke upward he wakes up to find himself
laying on a mangled I-beam. It shifts dangerously as he sits up. But some how
he manages to climb off it. He looks around and finds Botan laying not to far
away. He runs to her at once. )
Yusuke: Botan! Hang in there Botan! Botan!
(At that
moment little spears of light fall down from the sky like rain. Yusuke can feel
his energy being restored.)
Yusuke:
Koenma....Is it you, Koenma?
(Some
rocks shift where two where some other drops of light are falling. Kurama and Hiei
slowly get up. Not to far from them Kuwabara crawls out from the rubble that
was burying him alive.)
Kuwabara: A-are we still alive?
(Kurama
sees the Rain of light fall on a slab of concrete and lifts it up revealing
Hinageshi.)
Hinageshi: Has the Spirit World been restored?
(Botan
awakens.)
Botan: Yusuke...
Kurama: It’s finally over.
Kuwabara: Did that bastard really die?
Hiei: Who knows? He may be hiding among us
right now.
Kuwabara: Hey, that’s not even funny!
Yusuke: But if he is, we’ll give him
another good beating! What do you say?!
Everyone: Yeah!!!
